Smara

Michel Vieuchange, Smara

Mechanic in Smara

When we reached Smara, the first thing to do was to repair the starter of the Toyota. At the police roadblock before entering the city, we were already told about a good automotive "trician" [electrician]. It didn't take much time to find that "trician" shop, held by very young guys. They had very few tools (a hammer, an old battery, and a few cables), but they were quite efficient. They found that a part was broken within the starter, and they had it repaired at the nearby welding shop. In the evening, the truck was ready to go again ! (and the repair still holds today)
