Grenoble-Laâyoune, mars 2011
From Grenoble to El Aaiún and back, March 2011
Nous voulions retourner voir les beaux paysages du grand sud marocain que nous avions aperçus en 2009, et nous intéresser de plus près au Sahara Occidental. La région est encore très peu touristique, ce qui est très agréable.
Par contre, c'est trop loin de Grenoble pour faire raisonnablement l'aller-retour en 2 semaines. Nous avons donc monté un plan sur 3 semaines, un peu plus compliqué que d'habitude:
- de Grenoble à Laâyoune, un voyage en famille de 2 semaines avec la première équipe : Chika, Akiko, Yukiko, Vincent
A Laâyoune, Chika, Akiko et Yukiko ont pris l'avion pour rentrer (c'était la fin des vacances scolaires!)
Mon ami Jérôme est arrivé à Laâyoune le même jour, et d'ailleurs par le même avion, pour la seconde partie:
- de Laâyoune à Grenoble, en un peu plus d'une semaine, en visitant l'intérieur du pays par les pistes

In 2009, we noticed that far south of Morocco and Western Sahara are beautiful and interesting areas, off the beaten track.
But it is also quite far from Grenoble, somehow too far for the usual two weeks of winter vaction. So we planned a longer trip (3 weeks), and because of the school constraints, a little bit more complex than usual, with a team change in the middle !
- part 1: two weeks of family travel from Grenoble to Laâyoune by sea & land: Chika, Akiko, Yukiko, Vincent
Chika, Akiko and Yukiko went back by air from Laâyoune
My friend Jérôme arrived at Laâyoune by air the same day (and with the same aircraft, btw), to join the second team:
- part 2: Vincent & Jérôme, driving the truck back home, and exploring the inner side of the far south
That went quite well, at least for the general plan. A few unexpected details though. Read the story.
